Firestone Boulevard and Frontier Street Temporary Intersection Closure

UPDATE - Monday, April 1, 2024

Firestone Boulevard is CLOSED just east of Echo Street, and access from Falcon Street to Firestone Boulevard is CLOSED. Emergency services from Frederick-Firestone Fire Protection District will continue to have access needed for response.  Public access to the Firestone Regional Sports Complex will only be from Frontier Street.

Message from March 28, 2024:

Beginning Monday, April 1, 2024, the intersection of Firestone Boulevard (CR 24) and Frontier Street (CR 15) will be closed to traffic. This closure is needed for the installation of underground utilities within the intersection. Barring any unforeseen issues, and weather permitting, this closure is anticipated to last through April.

Local traffic and residents will be able to get to their destinations but may be required to utilize a detour route until the work is completed. 

The main detour routes will use Sable Avenue (CR 22) and CR 26 between Colorado Boulevard and County Road 17. Residents on Frontier Street living north of the work zone will have access from County Road 26. Signage will be in place along the detour route to help direct travelers. Motorists, pedestrians, and bicyclists are urged to pay close attention to detour and traffic control signs and, if possible, avoid this intersection.  View the complete detour map here.
