2025 Budget Preparation

Town Staff have begun preparing for the 2025 Budget, and the Board of Trustees will begin reviewing budget documents in a Work Session tonight, Wednesday, September 18. This will include a high-level overview of the proposed 2025 General Fund presented by each department. We encourage you to follow along and learn about projects, programs, and initiatives that are being proposed.

NEW THIS YEAR!

The Board of Trustees will be able to utilize a new online, interactive tool called Balancing Act to visually prioritize projects and understand budgetary limitations. This tool is published online for the public to educate themselves and provide comments. Each fund will have a separate simulation, which will be published before being presented each week.

In addition, documents presented during the budget preparation process will be available online at www.firestoneco.gov/budget after each meeting. Updates to these documents will be posted promptly. According to the schedule below, after subsequent funds are presented and discussed, those documents will be posted online as well. Please note that these numbers are proposed and subject to change.

Upcoming Tentative Budget Calendar

If you're interested in the budget process, the meetings listed below will include budget discussions.

Wednesday, September 18: All departments present the General Fund budgets to the Board of Trustees
Wednesday, September 25: Review of Water Fund and Stormwater Fund
Wednesday, October 16: Review of all other funds and Capital Improvement Fund
Wednesday, October 23: Final review of the 2025 budget, including the General Fund, Capital Improvement Fund, Debt Service Fund, and Conservation Trust Fund
Wednesday, November 13: Budget Adoption in a Public Hearing
