Traffic Signal Upgrades on Firestone Boulevard
Beginning next week, on Sunday, November 3rd, a contractor will upgrade the Traffic Cabinets for the traffic signals on Firestone Boulevard. Between 7:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m., the traffic signals on Firestone Boulevard at Jake Jabs Boulevard, Birch Street, and Cimarron Street will be off. While this work is ongoing, there will be traffic control personelle in the intersections directing traffic. This work is expected to take two nights.
After the traffic cabinets are replaced, the contractor will replace the detection units and battery backups. This work will be done between November 6th and November 8th, during the daytime, from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. While this work is ongoing, drivers may experience longer delays at these intersections. After the work is complete, the timing of these lights will be back to normal.
Motorists are urged to pay close attention while driving through the work areas and be prepared for slight delays. Please abide by all posted traffic control signs and reduce speeds in the work zone.
