Historic Firestone Waterline & Roadway Replacement Project

Service Line Hit

On Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at 3:30 p.m., a water service line was hit during the Historic Firestone Water Line Replacement Project, and the affected main line was temporarily closed.  Properties on Berwick Avenue between 1st Street and 4th Street may be without water for the next few hours. This is the same area that was impacted yesterday.

The contractor and Firestone staff are working diligently to fix the issue as quickly as possible, and it should be resolved by the end of the day.

On Tuesday, April 1, 2025, EZ Excavating began work on the Historic Firestone Waterline and Roadway Replacement Phase 2 - Project #3.

Waterline and road work will start on Berwick Street from 1st Street to Granville Circle and move to 3rd Street between Berwick and Granville Avenue. The schedule is subject to change, and any major changes will be shared with the community. Weather permitting, regular work hours will be from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and the project should be completed by Summer 2025.

Residents who will be affected by the work will receive door hanger notices from the contractor with specific times for the work on their street.

Motorists are urged to pay close attention while driving through the work area and be prepared for slight delays. While on Berwick Ave, be aware that there will be multiple lane shifts during construction. Please abide by all posted traffic control signs, reduce speeds in the work zone, and avoid the work area if possible.
