Election Update
& Candidate Training Information
After approving Resolution 25-74, the Town of Firestone Board of Trustees has set a special election to be held on November 4, 2025. During this election, registered voters in Firestone will elect one (1) trustee to fill a vacancy. This term will be filled until the next regular municipal election. In addition, registered voters will be asked their preference in moving the regular election date to align with Weld County, from the first Tuesday in April to the first Tuesday in November.
The Town of Firestone Clerk’s Office would like to invite interested residents to a Candidate Training on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at 5:30 pm. in the Board Room in the Police Department & Municipal Court Building at 9900 Park Avenue, Firestone, Colorado.
The Candidate Training will cover the nomination petition procedure, deadlines, the role of elected officials in the Town of Firestone, general election information, and the Fair Campaign Practices Act.
Attending the training is not required, but it is highly recommended. Nomination petition packets can be picked up from the Town Clerk’s Office starting on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at 8:00 a.m.
Important Dates for Candidates:
- First day petition may be circulated: August 6, 2025
- Last day to file nomination petition: August 25, 2025
- Last day to cure nomination petition: September 1, 2025
- Last day for candidates to withdraw: September 1, 2025
- Additional Fair Campaign Practices Act deadlines will be shared with candidates
