Central Park Partnership
Update & Next Steps
Last week, the Board of Trustees approved a Pre-Development Agreement with the United Soccer League (USL) and Card & Associates to explore a partnership for the development of Central Park.
What we heard from you..
- We didn’t vote for this.
- What about something for the residents?
- Who’s going to pay for this?
- I don’t want a stadium.
- How will this impact the neighbors?
We hear you. The community has many questions, and we want to provide clear answers. Please continue using the online Q&A form to share your questions and concerns directly with us. These questions will be answered at upcoming Board Meetings in a dedicated Q&A time on the agenda.
We recognize that many questions have come up through local social media. Since online posts can sometimes be inaccurate or incomplete, we encourage you to turn to the source for the most reliable information. Town Staff, the Board of Trustees, and our potential partners are committed to continuing an open dialogue about the future of Central Park and to keeping residents informed every step of the way.
Next Steps
In the near future, the community can expect updates from potential development partners as they move through the Property Inspection period.
As a reminder, the Pre-Development Agreement:
- Does not approve or permit any development.
- Does not commit the Town to any financial obligations.
- Does not mean everything is a “done deal.”
Instead, it creates a framework to explore opportunities for Central Park through a public process guided by the Firestone Development Code. Any proposals that come forward will go through the same rigorous process as all other developments in Firestone, including public reviews by the Planning & Zoning Commission and the Board of Trustees. Certain applications will also require public hearings.
