Small Business Saturday Proclamation

During Wednesday night’s meeting, the Town of Firestone officially proclaimed November 29, 2025, as Small Business Saturday. Trustee Holcomb presented the proclamation to Ryan, co-owner of Peppers Restaurant, located at 8274 Colorado Blvd. Thank you to all our incredible local businesses who call Firestone home.

Small businesses are at the heart of our community: creating jobs, supporting local events, and adding character to Firestone. We encourage everyone to support these local businesses, as they play a vital role in our economy, especially as the holiday shopping season approaches.

Interim Town Manager Appointment

During the meeting on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, the Board of Trustees approved an Appointment & Temporary Assignment Agreement to appoint Raelynn Ferrera as Interim Town Manager. To ensure continuity of operations and leadership within the organization, the Board found it necessary to appoint an Interim Town Manager while a recruitment process is conducted to fill the position permanently.

As Interim Town Manager, Ms. Ferrera will assume and perform all duties, responsibilities, functions, and authority of the Town Manager. The Board of Trustees plans to discuss the recruitment process for a Town Manager soon.

2026 Budget Approved

On Wednesday, November 12, 2025, after a Public Hearing, the Board of Trustees approved the 2026 Operating and Capital Improvement Budget by approving Resolution 25-115. In a separate action, the Board of Trustees appropriated the money for each fund by approving Resolution 25-121.

Staff presented the 2026 Preliminary Budget to the Board of Trustees at a Work Session on September 17, 2025, and at Regular Meetings on September 24, October 8, and October 22, 2025. No changes have been made since the October 22nd meeting.

Reminder: Due to upcoming holidays, the Regular Board of Trustees Meetings scheduled for November 26, 2025, and December 24, 2025, have been cancelled. The most current meeting schedule, along with the agenda and agenda packets, can be found in the Agenda Center.
