Community Survey

The Town of Firestone partnered with Polco to conduct a National Community Survey in the spring of 2025.  Randomly selected households were invited to participate in the survey. The survey collection occurred between early March and mid-April of 2025.

The survey results will serve as a powerful tool to guide policy direction for the Firestone Board of Trustees and prioritize projects within the Town. Additionally, the Town looks forward to continuing to utilize this platform to ask follow-up questions and engage with the public.

The Town last conducted a National Community Survey in 2023, and the best practice is to conduct one biennially.

2025 Highlights of Results & Key Findings

  • Firestone’s quality of life is strong, with both the overall quality of life and the Town as a place to live receiving high marks. Similarly, approximately 8 in 10 community members indicated they were very or somewhat likely to recommend living in Firestone to others and stated they would remain in the Town for the next five years.
  • Safety remains a notable strength, with nearly all residents indicating they feel safe in their neighborhood and in Firestone’s downtown/commercial area during the day. Perceptions of safety from property crime received ratings above the custom benchmark in comparison to other Fort Range communities and similar populations, while feelings of safety from fire, flood, or natural disasters showed an upward trend from 2023.
  • Amid a national decline in satisfaction with local governance, Firestone’s ratings remained stable, showing upward trends in areas such as keeping residents informed about community issues and encouraging resident involvement, both receiving positive ratings from approximately half of the respondents. Additionally, around 6 in 10 rated the overall direction of the Town positively.
  • Residents of Firestone highlight several potential focus areas in the local economy. Although the variety of business and service establishments has improved since the 2023 survey, some economy-related aspects received lower ratings than national and custom benchmarks, such as the vibrancy of the downtown/commercial area, employment opportunities, and shopping options.
